Congratulations to Megan and Hudair who both won prizes for their PhD research posters at the Industrial Liaison Forum organised by the School of Engineering and Materials Science. Both Megan and Hudair are part of Knight’s research group. Megan’s PhD is co-supervised by Dr Cleo Bishop at the medical school and investigates the structure – function relationship in primary cilia. This involves conducting an extensive confocal imaging screen of over 1700 compounds which regulate specific targets/pathways to determine the associated effect on primary cilia structure. Dr Yi Sui is Hudair’s primary supervisor on a project that involves development of microfluidics and computational modelling to measure the mechanical properties of circulating cancer cells.
