New funding for innovative virtual lab teaching aid

Tina Chowdhury in the School of Engineering and Materials Science at QMUL has been awarded grant funding from the EPSRC and Westfield Trust to develop an interactive teaching aid called the Virtual Tissue Lab (VTL). The new platform will be used to teach basic lab knowledge and skills including Health & Safety/basic rules and fundamental techniques involving cell culture, microscopy, mechanical testing and biochemistry.

This project has also been shortlisted as a Finalist for the 2013 S-Lab Awards and won the Drapers Prize in teaching innovations.
