New Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering
Please join us in welcoming Dr Kate Smith to her new role as Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering as of 1st August 2008.

Kate originally joined QMUL as a postgraduate student in 1997-2000 where she was awarded a 1st Class Honours. In 2000 she undertook a PhD with John Stark entitled “Characterization of electrospray properties in high vacuum: with a view to application in colloid thruster technology" and was awarded a PhD in 2005. From 2004 Kate held a Research Assistant post, again with John, until July 2008.

Kate is one of the co-inventors of the core technology and founders of Emdot Ltd.

Research / Expertise: Electrospray technology, small satellite propulsion technologies, pulmonary drug delivery, experimental measurement techniques for electrospray technology including time of flight, charge to mass and flow rates in microfluidic systems.
